A partisan opinion letter arguing that Trump and administration officials "threw the weight of the U.S. government behind a far-right conspiracy theory" of a communist takeover, drawing on the book Unhumans and dehumanizing rhetoric ("unhumans," "deformed freaks"), echoing pre-WWII fascism, to furnish (in Bannon's quoted words) "a predicate for immediate action" to suppress the 2026 elections.
