This address is the opening bookend of the same conflict scored in Opinion 2026-0698 (the April 1 aftermath address). The President announces that the U.S. military began major combat operations in Iran, pledges to destroy Iran's missiles and annihilate its navy, grounds the action in ensuring the regime never obtains a nuclear weapon, and warns of a massive and ongoing operation. It falls on the same internal fault line of Article XVI — Peace Through Strength, which commits the Standard to both a strong military and an America-first, non-interventionist foreign policy. The strong-military and anti-proliferation aims are maximally served, but this address strains the non-interventionist commitment more sharply than its April sequel because it openly invites regime change as a goal, telling the Iranian people the hour of their freedom is at hand and urging them to take over their government when the operation is finished. An open-ended war launched with an explicit call to topple a foreign government is intervention at its most expansive. Article I is again split: protecting Americans from a nuclear Iran is aligned; an open-ended regime-change war abroad is the entanglement the movement's restraint wing distrusts.
