A solidly aligned government-accountability measure — it sharpens the tools of the watchdogs who police waste, fraud, and abuse inside the federal bureaucracy — scoring at the top of the Mostly America First band, held just short of the top tier by the modest expansion of compulsion power it grants and its nature as a procedural oversight tool rather than a marquee America First priority. It supplies IGs plain authority to compel witness testimony (they already had document-subpoena power), with district-court enforcement.
