Skews Right · Opinion / Fair Persuasion

Legacy bias charts distinguish Fox's news desk from its opinion programming and place both to the right of center. AFCS does not grade by side of aisle — it grades against fixed constitutional Articles, so a right-leaning outlet is neither automatically credited nor automatically penalized.

Constitutional Analysis

Fox News is often assumed by both critics and supporters to be the 'America First' outlet by default. AFCS does not accept that assumption. Coverage is scored the same way regardless of the outlet's reputation: Article by Article, with the record cited in a public Opinion.

Where Fox News scores well under AFCS, it typically does so on Article I (national sovereignty), Article II (executive constitutional authority), and Article V (protection of the citizenry). Where it triggers findings, the pattern tends to be Article XIII when opinion programming is presented as reported news without clear separation, or Article VII when neoconservative foreign-policy framing crowds out the America First position it claims to champion.

The distance between AllSides' 'Lean Right / Right' rating and Fox News' AFCS score is instructive: an outlet can sit clearly on the political right and still score in the middle tiers of a constitutional standard when its own coverage departs from constitutional first principles. Right-of-center is not the same as America First, and AFCS is designed to show the difference.
